Building Schools for the Future (BSF) is one part of a number of exciting initiatives that will transform education and the local community. However, modern and well-designed buildings are needed to bring about these changes.
The BSF project is a 10-15 year programme that will see new schools built, or existing schools upgraded, to meet the needs of their communities in the 21st century.
Building design features will include welcoming entrances, more use of natural light, creation of ‘social spaces’ and pleasing aesthetic environments. Information and Communications Technology (ICT) is a key factor and new schools will employ state of the art ICT facilities that will support a fundamental change in the way in which teaching and learning happens.
In West Sussex, this new approach to this capital investment will initially be focused on the Bognor Regis Community College campus, who are working in partnership with Willmott Dixon Construction to build a school which will provide an ideal learning environment for the future.
